That's what your mom said, before I shaved her back! ATHF

Is there some tread left on those tires, or is it just like throwing a hot dog down the hallway? Family Guy

Beautiful minimalistic macro. The shades of red are a wonderful backdrop for the anthers.

Beautiful color, wonderfully composed, but knowing it's a photograph, I just HAVE to ask - what are the subject white thingies?

The ones in sharp focus seem to be floating on the background. Very interesting photo, Eric and a definite detour from you usual work. :)

Because I'm no botanist -- though I did attend and ace a class in college lo many years ago -- I had to do 30 seconds of research on your question!
The "white thingies" the anthers. They produce the polle and are supported by the stamen. In the photo, you'll notice the stamen faintly in the background swooping toward the front of the photo, and thus supporting the anthers. How's that for a scientific answer?!?!?

and you actually spell it ';pollen'...not ';polle'! Crap...it's time to go home for the day!

and I see now you can't put pollen in single quotes, lest it turns to a wink! geez!

Wow! That is an impressive photo! It was so magnified that I actually thought you had composed a photo using red satin cloth. I'm always amazed at your skill with you camera, Eric, but I never even suspected that this was a macro-shot. I thought you were wandering into the realm of abstract (and composed) photography! Very well done!

LOL!!...I gotta tell you...I've been shooting since I was 16 (many, MANY years back) and to this day I'm still a bit surprised when I look at what I shoot. Sometimes the surprise is a good one (like this photo) and sometimes it's not, such as when I'm pretty sure I've gotten something good and it just sucks!
Thank you, sir, for your kind words. I always look forward to your comments!
